As the Be Your Own Muse community continues to grow, we’ve realized how necessary it is to regularly check in with our Muses. All of these women are incredible, so naturally, their journeys to success continue to become even more dynamic and impressive with each passing day. In these intermittent Museworthy posts, we’ll do our best to highlight what they’ve been up to since their initial features. Consider this to be trackable evidence that progress is always possible with the right attitude, perseverance, and hard work!
Dr. Jessica Pizzuli, Army Veterinarian + Public Health Advocate
This past week, one of our very first Muses, Dr. Jessica Pizzuli, accomplished a life-long dream with the grand opening of her very own veterinary clinic, Just Cats. Jessica has devoted her life to caring for animals–She served as the commander of a brigade HHC unit for the US Army in Kuwait, as well as provided relief veterinary services in the Cleveland area. This is an extremely exciting (and impressive) accomplishment and we wish her all the very best! If you’re a cat owner in Northeast Ohio, be sure to stop by! Just Cats is located at 4125 Mayfield Road, South Euclid, OH.
Madeline Merrill, Aspiring Education Activist + Lifelong Learner
Former Muse Madeline Merrill completed her first marathon last week! This accomplishment is clear evidence that her steadfast sense of dedication to the betterment of society also extends to her own personal goals. As a student at UVA’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and a former alumnae of Habitat for Humanity’s “Bike & Build” program, Madeline isn’t afraid of a challenge, and she’s a pro at juggling (and crushing) absolutely everything on her personal bucket list.
Andrea Castro, Spanish Artist + Dream-Follower
Andrea Castro, Spanish painter, risk-taker, and Former Muse, has officially opened her Etsy shop! Here, you can buy print versions of her gorgeous pieces, while contributing to her dream of supporting herself solely through her art.
Shannon Hayden, Ground-Breaking Musician + Self-Sufficient Farmer
Experimental cellist, alternative living advocate, and new-age musician, Shannon Hayden, performed at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas in conjunction with folk duo Lily & Madeline. This is a huge step for the burgeoning young musician, and we’re confident that this is just the first of many monumental events for her.
